About

Oronaut = Greek “oros” (mountain) + “nautes” (sailor)

The Oronaut camping in AlaskaMy name is Evan Johnson. There’s no sense pretending the internet is really anonymous anymore, and I’m proud of the fact anyway. I split my time between Driggs, Idaho and Bozeman, Montana, where I attended college at Montana State University. I graduated in the spring of 2008 with one degree in Computer Science and another in Philosophy. I chose Bozeman for school because I enjoy the outdoors (namely skiing) and no other place I have found has education and outdoor activities in closer proximity than here; Bridger Bowl ski area is about 30mins away from campus, as the car drives. During college I could ski in the AM and go to class in the PM, or vica versa. Life in Bozeman is good. Loads of glorious mountains all around… fun college-town nightlife… the incredible Bridger Bowl ski area just up the road… a decent tech industry… it’s hard to ask for more.

Sometimes I like to leave though, on trips. I started this blog when I took a trip to Alaska in 2008 after graduating from MSU. I started to like this blogging thing and now intend to keep at it indefinitely. I hope you enjoy.

A few facts about me:

~I want to see all the mountains in the world.~
